About your instructor

 Prof. Robert Adamo is recently retired from the Westchester County Division of   Forensic Science laboratory where he worked as both an analyst and supervisor for 40 years.

In the last 12 years of his employment, he served as Director of the laboratory. During his career as an analyst and supervisor, he worked in the Biology, Trace Evidence and Crime scene sections. He has been a member of several professional associations including the American Association of Forensic Sciences, the American Board of Criminalistics where he served on the Board, The International Association for Identification and currently belongs to The Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists where he has served as a past President.

He has been published in the AAFS Journal of Forensic Sciences and has given numerous presentations throughout his career at professional meetings.

 In addition to being a working forensic scientist Professor Adamo has also taught Forensic Science in several colleges.

He started his teaching career as a teaching assistant at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He has served as an Adjunct instructor at Lehman College, The College at New Rochelle, and currently teaches at both Mercy College and the Westchester County Community College.

His teaching career has spanned over 35 years and includes courses in Forensic Science and Crime scene investigation. He also participated as an instructor at the Westchester County police Academy where he taught new recruits about the workings of the Forensic Science Laboratory.

Currently he is assembling a 4-course program at Mercy College which includes courses in Crime scene investigation and Forensic Science. He is also currently working on a chapter dealing with Forensic DNA analysis for a e- textbook on Criminal Investigation.

Prof. Adamo holds both a B.S and M.S in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal justice
